You’re invited to our upcoming free He Toki Trades Training Whānau Evening.

Thursday 11 June

5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Otago Polytechnic
L Block Foyer, 100 Anzac Avenue
Central Dunedin 9016

He Toki is more than a pre-trade course — it’s a whānau.

We grow future leaders through strong support, cultural identity, tikaka and mentorship.

He Toki supports whānau to gain skills and qualifications, connect with iwi and explore industry opportunities, with the goal of securing wealth-enriching futures for Māori and Pasifika.

With He Toki, you'll be supported to gain a New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trade Skills (Level 3) in carpentry, or a New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3)

Our Whānau Evening is a chance for Māori and Pasifika whānau to get to know us in a relaxed atmosphere, with food and activities for the whole family.

• Join us for kai

• Build your own kindling box to take home

• Have a look at what our ākonga are building at the moment

• Bring the kids – they’ll love our Tamariki Art Corner

• Meet our teachers and current students

Whether you’re Māori or Pasifika and curious about trades training, this is your chance to have a chat with our staff and current students. Information about study and signing up will be on hand, and you can ask as many questions as you’d like.

If you’re a current student, bring your whānau and friends. Show them where you study and what you’ve been working on.

We welcome parents and support individuals to attend the Taster Day alongside individuals. However, we kindly ask that only ONE ticket be claimed per prospective student/device.

Please note that a minimum number of attendees is required for this event to proceed. All registered participants will be contacted prior to the event to confirm if it is going ahead.

By registering for this event, you consent to receive event and programme-related marketing from Otago Polytechnic. You can unsubscribe at any time. Attendees also acknowledge that photos may be taken for marketing purposes during the event; if you prefer not to be photographed, please inform the event photographer on the day.
