Our emotions get wounded when we get hurt. Neither repression nor catharsis (letting it all out) heal emotions rooted in hurts.

This retreat will deal with the dynamics and healing of anger, fear, guilt, shame and grief so they become drives for new life rather than emotions we wish would disappear. Each session will end with group prayer or an exercise for healing an emotion. As the emotions are allowed to be felt and loved, they serve us rather than continuing as compulsive enemies. They become drives to give and receive life rather than drives further wounding us and others. As the emotions heal, we discover new gifts for relating to God, community & others.

This is a 2-day event. Friday 7:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 2:30pm. Lunch is included on Saturday.

Presenter

Fr. Matthew Linn, SJ (as a team with Dennis and Sheila Linn) has focused on integrating physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. He has advanced graduate degrees in sociology, anthropology, spirituality, and theology. Since 1970 he has taught courses & given retreats on healing in every state and in over 60 countries from Alaska to Australia. Ordained in l973 he currently lives in a Jesuit community in Minneapolis where he trains spiritual directors. Matt, Dennis, and Sheila have written 23 books translated in over 20 languages, (all in Spanish) and with over a million copies in English.
