From infancy to older age, our brains develop and change and sometimes go wrong. Join world-leading SAHMRI researchers, including Professor Cedric Bardy, as they reveal groundbreaking insights into brain development and how cutting-edge research can help slow or reverse the path of brain disorders, as we work to make healthy brains.

Professor Cedric Bardy’s research focuses on advancing stem cell biotechnologies to understand and cure neurological disorders. In particular, he is the inventor of BrainPhys; a neuronal medium broadly used to culture human neurons in vitro. Cedric is also the Founding Director of Brain Organoid Therapeutics.

Cedric grew up in the South of France and obtained a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2008. He pursued his postdoctoral training at the Pasteur Institute (2008-2010) and the Salk Institute (2011-2016). He moved back to Australia in 2017 to establish an independent research group at SAHMRI and Flinders University, where he is an ARC Future Research Fellow.
