Chronic Pain is insidious, unrelenting, and life-altering. And it affects around 20% of Australian adults, with no effective treatments. But that could change thanks to the efforts of SAHMRI researchers. From altering how pain signals are sent around the body using new treatments from creepy crawly sources, to how our brain combines and interprets the signals everyday, they’re completely reframing pain.

Join us for an inspiring lunch hosted by Executive Director Professor Maria Makrides featuring SAHMRI leaders sharing their work:

Professor Stuart Brierley, Director of the Visceral Pain Research Group, Director of the Hopwood Centre for Neurobiology, and Co-Theme Leader of Lifelong Health

Associate Professor Tasha Stanton, Group Leader, Persistent Pain Research Group

Erin MacIntyre, PhD candidate, Persistent Pain Research Group
