Presented by Jai Basrur, Capital Planning - Valuation is the second of the HealthTech Activator’s capital planning workshops, aimed at business owners and founders who are more advanced in their capital raising journey. Content is tailored to the unique challenges faced by healthtech companies. 

About Jai Basrar

Jai is currently the founding director of CGB Consulting, and has previously worked with and advised many reputed corporate and government entities over the past 35 years. He’s held senior positions at Ernst & Young, Stern Stewart & Co, and Horwath Porter Wigglesworth as well as advising at corporate board and senior leadership levels in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, India, South East Asia, and the Middle East. He has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight to share on valuations and capital raising across multiple sectors including medical software, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

Jai, a long-time NZTE Beachhead advisor, is also a regular presenter and lecturer at forums and business schools here and around the world. He has been a member of local and international panels advising on valuation standards and frameworks and is a member of a number of advisory boards where he advises on early-stage and growth-focused businesses.

Jai is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA, UK), Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand Inc. (M Inst D), Member of the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc. (CFIP).  He has a BSc (Hons) Physics and an MBA (Finance).  He has also attended leadership programmes at leading business schools.

  • Hosted in-person at Callaghan Innovation, 1 Watt street, Parnell, Auckland
  • Cost: $75 + GST per person 
  • This workshop is strictly limited to a maximum of 7 companies, with an allowance of 2 people per company.
