    Practical skills training for front line workforces who have an opportunity to support health behaviour change.

    Welcome to Healthy Conversation Skills Training delivered by the Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation delivered at the University of Tasmania.

    This free in-person training session will focus on enhancing your ability to communicate effectively to support behaviour change, even in brief interactions. The training will be offered by newly trained local facilitators from this training model developed in the United Kingdom. 

    The training consists of two four-hour face-to-face training sessions [Friday May 31 2024 and Friday June 7 2024, 9:00AM - 1:00PM] in which you will explore:​

    • How to support someone to make healthy changes by exploring their world​
    • How using more effective responses can help people find their own solutions​
    • How to support someone to make a behaviour change plan​
    • What the benefits are of spending more time listening than giving advice​
    • A range of behaviour change techniques and how they can be used​
    • An opportunity to practice and embed the skills
