Event description

We'd like to welcome you to a 2-in-1 Healthy Hospo Workshop.

Workshop #1: Leading with Values Why this matters:
Great leaders always carry a clarity of values, and do more than profess their values, they practice them. Part of that means identifying what to do when life gets in the way. For leaders to change culture in hospitality, they need to be clear on their values. And more importantly, they need to intentionally action these values every day.

What to expect:

In this workshop, we will spend time exploring and identifying values.
You and your teams will explore their own values, take part in reflection exercises, and practice vulnerability through sharing. By the end of this session, you'll have a chance to learn more about the people you work with, reflect on values, and understand what authenticity looks like to you.

Who this is for:

Owners, managers, senior staff, and anyone wanting to develop their leadership skills.

Workshop #2: Communication

Why this matters:

Communication lays the foundation for connection, trust and growth. It is one of life’s essential skills and when practiced effectively, helps us to be better leaders, colleagues, partners, parents and friends.
It is often complex terrain to navigate however and can be the birthplace of internal struggles, interpersonal challenges, tension. conflict and barriers to progress.
How we communicate with ourselves is foundational to how we relate to others which makes this an important place to also do some groundwork.

What to expect:

In this interactive and engaging workshop we practice and develop skills and strategies which support open, healthy, and constructive communication and empower and equip us to lean into hard and necessary conversations. Participants will learn about:

- Holding space for themselves and others.
- Recognizing emotional triggers and techniques for addressing them.
- Expressing feelings without judgement or blame.
- Identifying unmet needs and values at the root of conflict and finding constructive ways forward.

They will also explore evidence-based mindful self-compassion practices that help to:

- increase awareness of the destructive and debilitating effects of the inner critical voice.
- establish a healthier inner dialogue.
- become their own ally through the waves of life.

Participants will leave this workshop with a solid communication tool kit to put into practice in life; with themselves and in personal and professional relationships.

Who this is for:

Anyone who wishes to show up for the people in their lives, including themselves with greater courage, clarity and compassion and who is interested in developing relational tools that foster growth and build trust and connection. Owners, managers, chefs, front of house, senior staff, and junior staff. All humans welcome!

The facilitator:

Kelly Watkin, combines her backgrounds in hospitality, education, and youth development with her passion for yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. She develops international curriculums and facilitates workshops nationwide, emphasizing the importance of awareness and connection. Kelly’s sessions are warm and supportive, equipping participants with tools for daily life.
