The Healthy Mothers Healthy Families program supports, empowers and encourages mothers of a child with disability to learn about, and create a healthy lifestyle that fosters their own health and well-being, alongside a healthy, happy family life.

The workshops provide mothers with information, research findings and the shared wisdom of other mothers, to better support mothers to meet their important daily responsibilities caring for their child with disability and family, whilst also caring for themselves.

Reframing Disability has partnered with A/Prof Helen Bourke-Taylor from Monash University to run FREE online Healthy Mothers Healthy Families workshops. Come and learn how to create a healthy lifestyle that fosters your own health and wellbeing alongside a happy and healthy family life.

The online workshops will cover:

how to make positive changes to your health and wellbeing;
research findings and the shared wisdom of other mothers;
health information, tips and strategies;
services and supports.

Dates

The program is delivered in 3 x 2-hour sessions over 6 weeks.

Session 1: Thursday, 29 July 2021; 8pm - 10pm (AEST)

Session 2: Thursday, 19 August 2021; 8pm - 10pm (AEST)

Session 3: Thursday, 9 September 2021; 8pm - 10pm (AEST)

Your registration is for all 3 sessions. It is recommended you attend all 3 sessions in order to get the most value from this program.

Details

Sessions are delivered online via Zoom. Instructions will be emailed.
The program is for mothers and female caregivers of a child or young adult with disability.
All facilitators have lived experience as a parent of a child or young adult with disability. Facilitators are trained by A/Prof Helen Bourke-Taylor from Monash University.
