“Healthy Muscles, Healthy Ageing: Practical Approaches for GPs”
Event description
GP Education Evening on Sarcopenia & Muscle Health
Sarcopenia – the age-related loss of muscle mass and function – is one of the most overlooked risk factors for poor health and independence in older adults. Yet it’s also one of the most preventable.
This interactive evening will give you practical tools to identify and assess sarcopenia in your patients, including live demonstrations of grip strength, sit-to-stand, and TUG tests. You’ll hear the latest evidence on diagnosis, treatment, and referral pathways, and take part in an engaging case study with live polling.
You’ll leave with knowledge you can use the very next day in your practice – from quick screening tips to evidence-based exercise prescription. The evening will also showcase the role of Exercise Physiologists and their approach to muscle health, giving you a clear picture of how-to better support patients at risk.
Come for the science, stay for the hands-on experience – and walk away with practical strategies to change patient outcomes.
This is an RACGP-approved CPD activity under the RACGP CPD Program
