    Event description

We know how much you love your pets and how important they are to you. That’s why we’re excited to bring you Healthy Pet Day, proudly supported by Petbarn Foundation, a special day that’s all about helping you take care of your pets and making sure they stay happy and healthy. All services will be free for eligible attendees.

    What you need to know:

    • This event is available to residents of Rural City of Wangaratta who hold a current concession card. Proof must be provided on the day.
    • One ticket must be booked for each individual animal to allow adequate time for health checks.
    • We encourage you to book your free appointment online as spaces are limited.
    • We will attempt to cater to walks-ins on the day - please note that our ability to assist will be dependent on staffing and resources.
    • Please ensure pets are secure with a lead or carrier.
    • Only attend the event if you and your pet are healthy and well.

    Book your spot now!

    We're here to help with:

    • Health checks
    • Flea and worm treatment
    • Vaccinations (dogs only)*
    • Microchipping
    • Pet food
    • Information about positive pet ownership and de-sexing

    Important notes:

Please comply with staff instructions, which may include directions such as:

    • waiting in line
    • ensuring puppies (16 weeks or less) are carried at all times with no floor contact at the event venue
    • maintaining a distance of 2 metres between animals at the event (exception if from same family/group)
    • following all safety and guidance instructions from our staff

If your pet has previously demonstrated reactive or aggressive behaviour in a veterinary setting, please advise us beforehand by emailing outreach@rspcavic.org.au, so we can proactively plan and minimise your pet's stress during their appointment.

Whilst our vets will do a complimentary health check to ensure your pet is fit to vaccinate, if your pet has any severe medical conditions or major health concerns, you will be referred to local vet clinics for veterinary advice and medical treatment to ensure your pet gets the dedicated care and attention it needs.

Due to current state-wide cat vaccine shortages, vaccinations are available for dogs only at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Where possible, please ensure 48 hours' notice for appointment cancellation.

If you have any enquiries, please contact us at healthypetday@rspcavic.org.au
