PLAN YOUR DAY:
ADMISSION TIME- 7.30AM
1. Visit our website FORMS (thevetproject.com.au) to read the Before Surgery section and download the Pre-Op Information for Cats and Dogs document. You MUST read this document and you will be required to sign a consent form on admission.
2. Fast your pet – this means no food after 9pm the night before surgery. Fresh water should always be available.
3. Keep cats inside in a secure location overnight so they are easy to find in the morning.
4. Bring your pet in a secure carrier. Do not carry your cat in your arms as there is a high risk of them running away and getting injured.
5. If you are bringing multiple animals in a single carrier, they must be identified in some way. Different coloured collars are a good option.
6. Admission time is strictly 7:30-8:00am. Failure to arrive on time may result in cancellation of your appointment.
7. Do you need a microchip? If so, it is a legal requirement in Victoria to obtain a microchip source number. Visit Home - Pet Exchange Register (animalwelfare.vic.gov.au) to get your source number - please bring your source number with you to your appointment.
8. Keep your phone nearby and turned on so that we can contact you as needed throughout the day.
9. Discharge time is generally between 12:00pm-4:00pm. Please arrange for someone to be available during these times to pick your pet up.
CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY: If you are unable to attend, please contact us via e-mail at info@thevetproject.com.au at least 48 hours before your appointment. Last minute cancellations (less than 48 hours’ notice) or no shows will NOT be refunded. If your cat is the opposite sex than the appointment you have booked we may not be able to accommodate their surgery on the day of your booking. We are looking forward to meeting you and your pet!
