We warmly invite you to join us for a supportive and practical session on Healthy Relationships and Consent, designed for parents, carers, and people with Down syndrome.

This session will explore how to build safe and respectful relationships in everyday life.

Together, this workshop will offer a practical guidance on building safe, respectful relationships. Participants will learn about different types of relationships, recognising safe and unsafe behaviour, what consent is, and how to express consent with confidence.

Meet your presenters:

Heather works as project officer and educator at Family Planning Australia.

She is passionate about sexual and reproductive health rights for all people and working with community to better understand and deliver accessible health education.

Heather likes rock’n’roll music and concerts, enjoying nature with her family and dog Alan and writing poetry for her friends.

Bernadette is the latest addition to the team at Planet Puberty. Bernadette might be a familiar face, as she worked for Down Syndrome NSW in the Family Support Team back in 2020.

Being part of the Health Promotion team, Bernadette’s focus is on supporting parents and carers who are guiding their children through puberty. With two teenagers herself, she knows what life on Planet Puberty can be like. Bernadette loves camping, good coffee and Australia’s beautiful weather.
