About Craig Castree
Craig Castree is a passionate soil regeneration specialist, sustainability advocate, and award-winning horticulturist with over 45 years of hands-on experience in growing nutrient-dense food without chemicals. A published author of six books, Craig has dedicated his life to helping others live more self-sufficient, sustainable lives — starting right in their own backyards.
From wholesale nurseries to orchard management, Craig’s roots in horticulture run deep. He currently serves as Vice President of the Werribee Park Heritage Orchard, where he champions heritage fruit varieties and community-based growing. As the founder of the RegenEdible Gardening movement, Craig works with over 12 councils across Victoria to transform urban spaces into edible ecosystems. His message is clear: healthy soil equals healthy people. Craig’s mission is to reconnect people with the soil — and themselves — through practical, regenerative gardening that restores health to land, food, and community.
