Healthy Soils
Event description
Healthy soils are the foundation of a productive garden and understanding how they work will help you to make decisions with confidence. In this workshop we’ll cover what makes up a healthy soil, how to assess your soil using simple techniques and selecting the right soil amendments to correct common issues. We’ll show you how to improve your soil using methods that are simple and low cost (or free!), to set you up for a bumper crop next season.
Please note: there is an undercover shelter at this event, but we will be partially outdoors so please dress for the weather on the day and bring a warm and windproof coat.
-------
Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc to swap and share!
Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.
If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you. Photos will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day.
