Heaps Normal x Beat Kitchen Records Present: Violet by Dylan Atlantis EP Launch
Event description
Dylan Atlantis (she/them) is a Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Western Sydney. Sonically, Dylan fuses the grit of grunge and indie rock, with the sweet soulfulness of rnb - think Syd from The Internet meets Deb Never, influenced by N.E.R.D. and D'angelo
‘Violet’ is a 7 track EP completely written and self-produced by Dylan Atlantis. The project is inspired by the time between 5:30pm-7pm in summer, when the sun is setting and the sky is filled with hints of purples and oranges throughout. The natural hues always feel so romantic and introspective, the two main topics explored within this EP. Violet is inspired by the sounds of the Cocteau twins, Yves Tumor, Res, Smashing Pumpkins and the hopeless romanticism of 90s RnB.
Dylan Atlantis brings her live performance to the stage at SHADES on Friday 16th of June, playing her new record 'Violet' back to front accompanied by her live band. Support comes from R&B newcomers Fisheye FM, with Sollyy & Beat Kitchen Records DJs holding it down the decks on the night.
