Event description

HEART IN THE RADIANCE OF STARS - THE ETHERIC HEART - AN ORGAN OF SPIRITUAL PERCEPTION

PRESENTERS GILLIAN ROGERS, IRMHILD KLEINHENZ, IRIS CURTEIS

Many of us feel a genuine need to find innovative ways of being, to cultivate courage and a deeper perception and understanding of the interconnectedness of life in all its visible and invisible forms. With presentations born out of genuine insight, a wealth of practice-based knowledge and creative activities we will explore heart thinking and the development and evolution of the Etheric Heart. Our intention is to provide you with tools and practices that enable you to find greater strength, clarity and humanity to meet these challenges. Using storytelling, shared research, visual and meditative exercises, and conversations we will deepen your appreciation and understanding of the transformative capacity of the heart as an instrument for spiritual perception and heightened social consciousness. We will offer our work in a process of Collaborative Knowledge Building, Creative Exercises, Contemplation and Conversation.

SHORT SESSION DESCRIPTIONS AND BIOS
Iris Curteis is an accomplished storyteller; her background includes studies in visual arts, speechformation & dramatic arts (Europe), BA & BA hon. (Creative Writing) and a PhD focussing on Storytelling and Community Building. She has been working out of Rudolf Steiner's indications for over 40 years.
Folktales - Imaginations of Heart Thinking: True representations of the spiritual world proceed from heart thinking. Immediate apprehension, attained through heart thinking, instantaneously reveals whether something is true or false. To enter into higher worlds, we also need a new understanding of so-call contradictions. I will explore heart thinking through carefully chosen folktales, provide you with an experience of liminal space created through storytelling and invite you to engage with characters who act out of immediate apprehension, and unfolding imaginations that guide us towards a more layered and complete picture.

Healing Practices for The Etheric Heart asks: what do we know about the separation of the physical and etheric heart? Irmhild will explore the effects of this separation and the distorted rhythms that arise as a consequence of this split. The heart is a pioneer in embryological development. So too, the etheric heart and the astral heart pioneers for moral life in the human being. We will look at how human health is influenced by illness or preventative interventions such as the recent increase in pericarditis in the younger generation, especially during the period of the development of the etheric heart.

Gillian Rogers holds a BA (hon English Lit.), Grad. Dip. Adult Ed., Post Grad. Cert (Professional Learning), MA (Steiner Education). She has worked in Steiner Education
for over twenty-five years, most recently as a Steiner high school English teacher, Professional Learning coordinator and Head of Education.
The Future Waiting to be Born: These sessions will provide insights into the development of heart thinking and experience with exercises and observations from Steiner’s work, using the growing body of research on the heart as an organ of perception as a reference point.
