 *****About Cacao Ceremony *****

Ceremonial Cacao is a heart opening medicine. When prepared and consumed in specific quantities, with intention and setting, can assist in opening the heart chakra, deepening one's meditation experience, inner work practices, and connection toward others.

*****Contra-indications for Cacao*****

Cacao in ceremonial doses is not recommended if you have a pace maker, have high blood pressure, or other heart conditions, as the cacao will increase your heart rate. It can be dangerous to your health if you are taking heart medication or high doses of antidepressant medication. People with bi-polar disorder are advised of the risk of over stimulation and manic symptoms. If this applies to you, please know you are still most welcome to join us for the experience with a very light/homeopathic dose or none at all. You will still receive many benefits from participating in the ceremony and basking in the collective energy that we will generate.

We strongly advise you to refrain from eating any big meal in the 2-3 hours preceding the ceremony to increase the efficacy of the cacao and to enhance your experience. This will also reduce the potential for any negative interactions with anything in your stomach. If you must eat, please eat lightly and simply (no greasy or dense foods.)

*****What is Dancing Freedom?*****

Dancing freedom is a free form dance practice, a moving meditation with the intention of aligning life with love and awareness. A dance practice that blends the medicine of dance with the medicine of ceremony and co-creation. Dancing freedom takes you on a guided dance journey through an elemental wave of Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether - deepening your connection to the elements, life and living.

In the dance you are invited to explore an authentic way of moving - a creative expression of your unique being. There is only one rule in Dancing Freedom - you can't do it wrong! In the process of dance we can become a free flow of energy, moving into oneness, beyond the mind, personality and ego.

Dancing Freedom provides an opportunity to release physical tension and pain, to unwind energy which may be held in the body, to express emotions and sounds, to play like a child, to connect with yourself and others in the dance, to have FUN and to remember that you LOVE to dance! 💃

“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: "When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?” Gabrielle Roth - Founder of 5 Rhythms Dance

*****What is a Sound Bath?*****

A Sound Bath is an immersive, full-body listening experience that uses intentional sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to nurture your mind, body and soul.
The experience typically begins with each person lying or seated in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. Different sounds and frequencies are introduced in succession, created by a variety of overtone-emitting instruments including tuning forks, gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, and voice. When you sink into a Sound Bath and open your awareness to your listening, you allow your brain waves to slow, shifting from a more active state to a more relaxed state, or even a dreamlike state.
The sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation to drop into a deeper state of consciousness. An opportunity to unplug from external stimuli, come into a place deep rest and relaxation, and to activate the body's natural self-healing abilities.

*****About Sara-Jane*****

Sara-Jane Cleland is a Dancing Freedom Facilitator, Yoga Teacher, Sacred Altar Creator and Space holder who lives on Gundungurra land in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

Her journey as a holistic practitioner began 30 years ago as a Yoga teacher and organically evolved into Bodywork, Naturopathy, Herbal medicine and Conscious Dance. In 2016, she discovered 5 rhythms dance on retreat with Gina Chick and became a passionate advocate for conscious dance. At the end of 2018, she undertook intensive facilitator training in the conscious dance practice of Dancing Freedom.

Since 2019, she has held monthly Dancing Freedom events offering this powerful practice to her community. In 2021, she created a 5 week course - Women's Embodied Dance Journey through the 5 Elements - which combines meditation, a women's sharing circle and a dancing freedom journey which runs each school term.

She is regular guest conscious dance teacher for Radiance Dance in Bondi and supports well-known conscious dance teachers Michelle Mahrer (5 Rhythms) and Caitlin Wood (Open floor & Dancing Freedom) on retreats with sacred altars, yoga and space holding.

Her passion is connection, connection to the innate healing power of the body, connection in community, co-creating and supporting each other, connection to oneself, your whole loving being, so worthy of self-love and creative expression.

*****About Libby*****

Libby is a heart centered ceremony woman offering meaningful and transformative healing experiences in Sacred Cacao medicine and Sound Baths based in the Southern Highlands.

She was first introduced to Cacao as a sacred plant medicine during a Mayan fire ceremony whilst in Mexico. This profound and deeply moving experience led Libby to bring this spirit medicine into her own personal practice when she returned home, and from there she felt called to share this sacred gift with her community.

Also having a deep belief in the healing powers of music, sound and frequency, Libby holds a certification in Sound Healing. She has a great passion for this work, holding Sound Baths in and outside the Southern Highlands area.
Her vision is to bring community together, within a safe and sacred space for people to connect, heal and grow.

'As above, so below', Libby believes that through this process of inner healing, we can help heal the world.
