HeART of TIPPing: Contact Improvisation Weekend Workshop with Joerg Hassmann
Event description
Tipping describes a shift in momentum: it suggests being off-balance,
invites surrender and promises excitement. How do we approach this
transition safely? Can this exploration foster connection and refine
communication between dancers?
These are some of the questions that unfold in this weekend long workshop
with Joerg Hassmann, a world-wide experienced and passionate contact
improviser.
In the HeART of TIPPing, Joerg sensitively guides a systematic approach to
Contact Improvisation technique within a somatic framework, exploring
developmental movement patterns, the myo-fascial web, and an awareness of
how to regulate our nervous system in solo and group settings.
The weekend offers plenty of dancing and time to take a deep dive, or let
the feet leave the floor! Discover and learn elegant ways to negotiate an
invitation to be lifted, particularly around what happens next and the
choices we have to support each other in the dance.
Beginners are welcome, but some prior familiarity with contact
improvisation jam spaces is highly recommended. Jams around Perth:
* Every Wednesday evening in the city (Details via Facebook Events)
* Some Saturday afternoons in Fremantle (Schedule announced via WhatsApp or Facebook Events)
