This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Wellington Youth Choir is proud to present its first concert of 2023 with new director Rowan Johnston: “Heavens Above”. The choir will explore works that speak of the great above by artists fascinated with the skies and the unknown. Accompanied by Nick Kovacev, the concert will feature music from New Zealand composers Douglas Mews and David Hamilton, through to American choral superstars Jake Runestad and Eric Whitacre. With contemporary artists Billy Joel and Sir Dave Dobbyn also featuring, there will be something celestial for everyone. Join us for a night of amazing music.

ABOUT US

Wellington Youth Choir is a self-run, mixed choir for 17-27 year olds in the Wellington region consisting of around 50 students and young professionals. The choir provides a fantastic opportunity for experienced singers to continue singing at a high standard, and for newcomers to get involved in a choir for the first time.

COVID SAFETY

Audience members are welcome to wear masks throughout the concert if in close proximity with others. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell to keep the choir and other audience members safe.
