HEAVYCHEST (NZ) in LONDON | The Jago | Dalston | 18th June

HEAVYCHEST is the music project of Aotearoa songwriter Andre Smith, founded in 2015. Since the release of his debut album PREHEAT in 2017, the project has taken many forms, shifting through different sounds and collaborations while remaining anchored in Smith’s songwriting. Currently performing solo, he presents intimate live shows alongside a steady output of self-produced music.

2025 was a big year for Smith writing/ producing his latest record 'ASCEND' at a residency in the snowy French alps supported by TurbulenceConcept. A collection of songs blending introspective storytelling with indie-folk songwriting. The residency was followed by a run of shows across Europe and the UK and most recently supporting Mild Orange on an extensive tour, before returning home to Aotearoa New Zealand for his own shows.

In 2026 Andre is currently in Costa Rica taking part in a writing residency at the House Of Somos! Working on music for his next record and upcoming live shows.
