The Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre are proud to present 'HED Talk' a comedy lecture by Gavin Baskerville. Join us on Thursday 9 November 2024, at the Wicking Dementia Centre, for an hour of comedy and the opportunity to ask our expert panel questions about dementia.

The event will be hosted by Associate Professor Alison Canty, and the guest speaker is Gavin Baskerville.

Gavin Baskerville has been dishing out jokes for over 25 years. With his dark-edged wit, engaging stage presence, and unique takes on topics from the mundane to the ridiculous, Gavin has carved a name for himself as a well respected favourite of the Australian comedy circuit. His material ranges from insightful social commentary, to hilarious anecdotes and silly puns all flavoured with Gavin’s unique, joyously sardonic style.

You will also get an opportunity to ask our expert panel which comprises of Distinguished Professor James Vickers (Director of the Wicking Dementia Centre), Associate Professor Jane Alty and Associate Professor Alison Canty any questions you have regarding dementia.

EVENT DETAILS

- Doors open at 5.45pm for a 6pm start and the event will conclude at 7pm.

- Venue - the event will be held at the University of Tasmania, Medical Precinct - Wicking Dementia Centre, 17 Liverpool Street Hobart. There is limited street parking around the venue, or the Argyle Car Park is open until late and a 5 minute walk from the Centre.
