Helen Cripps: The Return of Pearl Harber (Work In Progress)

Wartime Sweetheart Pearl Harber didn’t know she was a homophone. Not until a military attack on the other side of the Atlantic sullied her name by association and destroyed her career for good. Not the worst thing to happen that day, but still.

Forced to look on in exile as Vera Lynn leapt into her spotlight, Pearl passed the time stewing in jealousy and planning a big comeback. But mainly stewing in jealousy. Which is why the big comeback has taken 85 years.

The Return of Pearl Harber is a silly character comedy show with live original music, written and performed by Helen Cripps.

Helen has appeared in numerous productions on stage and screen, including Flowers (Netflix), Intelligence (Sky), This Is Going To Hurt (BBC), Julius Caesar (Donmar), Earthquakes In London (NT), Persuasion (Rose Theatre), Typical Girls (Sheffield Crucible) and The Low Road (Royal Court).
