HellNation 2

Event description

After a blistering inaugural hit-out in November 2022, the bloke down below has seen fit to spew forth another HELLNATION upon Newcastle.

This time around, the iconic Lass O’Gowrie Hotel will be the site of this hellish happening and it will all go down from 12pm on Saturday 18 March.

And the folks at HN HQ have assembled a line-up that can only be described as stacked! So stacked in fact that we couldn’t fit it all in one announcement!

So, without further ado, leading the charge for HELLNATION 2 are one of the heaviest hitting two-pieces to ever grace a stage, ASTRODEATH, and the mesmeric psychedelic gospel of THE NEPTUNE POWER FEDERATION!

And if that wasn’t enough to elicit a “hell yeah”, just take a squiz at the rest of this lineup!

Spoonhead, Lachlan X Morris, Drugs In Sport, Owen Guns (Wollongong), Baam Bam, Unfit For Human Consumption, Stella Sea (NT), Medheads, The Howlin’ Rats, Body Melt, Headbutt, Trashed Again, Jamie Hay, Hauntus, The Not Nots, Big Earplug, Psychoda, The Lass Skate team and DJ Only Dans spinning choons ‘til the wee small hours!

Like all great threats to decency, the church of The Neptune Power Federation was born far from the dull gaze of the masses.

Operating out of dive bars and biker clubhouses, playing to troubled souls with dirty hair and crude intentions, their high-volume psychedelic gospel spread like a glorious subterranean infection.

In the pulpit is Imperial Priestess Screaming Loz Sutch, her tiny frame belying the colossal power of her scorching oratory, spoken in languages assumed through centuries of time travel.

Her backing band consists of battle worn soldiers from the Australian underground punk, stoner and metal scenes who have long forgotten their former existences and are now forever beholden to the mesmeric lure of the Imperial Priestess.

Hot on the heels of the latest single, Red Weed, from their sophomore album Vol 2, Sydney two-piece Astrodeath is fast-gaining a reputation as one of the hardest-working bands in the country.

Forming in 2018, Astrodeath immediately established their intentions of belting out

sludge-ridden slices of heavy rock across the country, appearing at the likes of AFTERMATH, Sunburn, and Thrashville and sharing stages with the likes of Nick Oliveri, Beastwars and King Parrot.

Red Weed lies firmly in the stoner rock realm, a slow chugging guitar compliments a chaotic and pummelling kick drum pattern and the tormented, screaming vocal echoes the pain of a man consumed by addiction and fear.
