Help us count the users of Darebin Parklands
Event description
DCMC and the Friends of Darebin Parklands are looking for volunteers to help undertake a count of how many people are using the Darebin Parklands.
Over a three-hour period, volunteers working in pairs will be located at one of the eight entrances to the Parklands and manually count the different users entering and exiting the park, whether they be walking, walking dogs, riding or scootering, using a methodology provided by the Bicycle Network Victoria.
This information is important for our ongoing management of the Darebin Parklands, allowing us to better plan what we need to maintain and improve the Parklands for all users.
Volunteers do not need any prior experience – we will hold two induction sessions in the week leading up to the event to go over the process and will provide all of the materials required. Participants can volunteer for the full three hours or attend in 1.5 hour shifts. Please register for both sessions if you can help out for the full 3 hours.Â
