Please join us for the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition Opening Night.

21 visual artists from Flinders University and the University of South Australia will showcase their graduate works at our popular event at Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE) – South Australia’s leading independent contemporary visual arts organisation.

The Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition has long history of being a launch pad for the next generation of artistic talent in our state.

A range of disciplines are on display, including ceramics, glass, installation, jewellery, moving image, painting, photo media, photography, printmaking, sculpture and textiles.

Exhibiting artists will be eligible for 16 awards valued at nearly $70,000, to be presented on the opening night of the exhibition. The Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition remains one of the most significant opportunities for emerging creatives in the country, thanks to the generosity of our award donors and partners.

We hope you immerse yourself in the exhibition as we celebrate the strongest creative voices emerging from SA’s contemporary art scene and see some of the most exciting artists on the rise.

We are the Helpmann Academy – the only organisation of its kind in Australia.

Since 1994 we have been working to uplift and support South Australia’s emerging creatives to build and sustain their careers.

We are a unique collaborative partnership, unifying the skills and resources of our state’s three universities to support graduates as they commence their creative careers.

We are here to foster links between South Australia’s higher education institutions, the arts, and the community, which in turn enriches our broader society and ensures that the next generation of creative practitioners not only survive, but they thrive.

The Helpmann Academy acknowledges that we are on Kaurna Country, its sovereignty never ceded. We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide Plains and as the first and enduring storytellers of this land. We recognise and celebrate their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with this country and pay respect to the Kaurna Elders; past, present, and emerging.
