Henna for Beginners

Come along for this fun and creative henna body art workshop.

Designed for young people between the ages of 10-14, the workshop is a beginner-friendly session where children can learn about the cultural background, history, and traditional uses of henna body art, while also exploring their own creativity through simple henna designs.

The session will include an introduction to henna and its cultural significance, looking at different design ideas, practicing designs on paper, learning how to use henna, and then creating simple designs on your own skin. The focus will be on making the experience enjoyable, educational, and suitable for beginners, with simple designs that children can confidently create.

Each participant will be able to take home some henna paint and an applicator so they can hone their skills, and practice on their friends!

Kinal Gajera is an artist and the creator of Awesome Art by Kinal. She specializes in handmade artwork, henna art and face painting, and I enjoy creating engaging and interactive art experiences for the community. Through her henna work, Kinal loves to share the beauty and creativity of henna while also introducing people to its cultural context and traditional uses. She enjoys working with children and families and adapting creative activities into fun, accessible experiences for beginners.
