Her Story In Motion brings together a compelling collection of dance films placing women’s experiences, perspectives and creative voices at the centre of the screen.

Across different places, forms and approaches to screendance, these films explore identity, resilience, connection, memory and self-expression — revealing the many ways women use movement to tell stories that are deeply personal yet universally resonant.

From intimate reflections to bold cinematic works, Her Story In Motion celebrates women not simply as subjects of dance on film, but as storytellers, makers and creative forces.

Presented as part of the 2026 Inspired Dance Film Festival, the programme can be experienced in cinema at Reservoir Cinema, Rydges Sydney Central, or online through the IDFF Digital Suite.
