Herbal Extract Making - Tinctures, Glycetracts and Acetracts.

Join Naturopaths Monica Francia and Caitlyn Hill for another of their workshops in Herbal Medicine Making. In this workshop we deep dive into making concentrated herbal extracts including tinctures, glycetracts (made from glycerine) and acetracts (made from vinegar). Monica and Caitlyn will teach you how to make safe and effective herbal extracts at home, to use yourself and for your friends and family.

This workshop's focus on extracts will allow us to look at this form of medicine in more detail, giving you the skills to confidently practice herbalism at home. We will discuss the use and action of a range of herbs, including those you can easily grow or forage from your local environment (some you may know as weeds!). We'll also learn about the specifics of herbal extract making, to ensure you're getting the most medicinal and effective medicine you can with your herbs. This workshop suits beginners and intermediate home herbalists alike and is always a fun afternoon of connecting and learning over plants.

What you'll take home:

Participants will take home the herbal products they make during the session,
as well as a recipe booklet with recipes,
further information and resources for making the products at home.

About Facilitator:

Monica and Caitlyn are experienced Naturopaths and Herbalists currently working at Goulds Natural Medicine in Hobart. They are both passionate about ‘home herbalism’ and empowering people to take their health into their own hands. Monica and Caitlyn have run various workshops around Hobart for all skill levels and love working with beginners and experienced home herbalists alike.
