Event description

Rebecca Turnbull will be the first speaker. Rebecca is the BMCC's Museums Advisor and former Curator of the Hawkesbury Regional Museum. Rebecca is now the Museums and Collections Manager for the Mary MacKillop Museums and this will be her subject.

Kate O'Neill will be our second speaker. Kate is Chair of Woodford Academy and a BMACHO Management Committee Member. Kate is passionate about heritage and history and particularly Lower Mountains history which she feels has been neglected. Kate will talk about Hazelbrook Heritage.

BMACHO membership includes historical and heritage groups, family history societies, museums, local government (local studies units, library collections, archival collections), commercial enterprises with an historical or heritage component in its core business, and a limited number of individual members by invitation. The objectives of the organisation are:

To raise public consciousness of the value of cultural heritage
To encourage and assist cultural heritage
To initiate and support cultural heritage activities not already covered by member organisations.

One of the aims of BMACHO is to bring the various bodies into closer contact to encourage them to work more closely together and to provide a combined voice on matters of importance within the heritage sector.
