Hey, Auntie! Gumbo Cooking Contest
Event description
In celebration of Black History Month and Black food culture, we invite you to the 2nd annual 2025 Hey, Auntie! Gumbo Cooking Contest.
After the Black History Month Parade come to the Bayview Opera House to experience the 2025 Hey, Auntie! Gumbo Cooking Contest. The event brings together home cooks and professional chefs from around the Bay Area to compete for the Hey Auntie crown! (Don't let the name fool you, "Uncles" who can cook a mean gumbo will also have a chance to compete.)
RSVP free but required. Tasting tickets can be purchased for $20 before the event ($25 day of). Your tasting ticket will allow you a taste of all of our competition gumbos and vote for your favorite!
Please note that the event start time is subject to change as we get more details about the Black History Month
parade. The event will take place following the Parade.
