Event description

Hearts For Arts Law is a committee of volunteers dedicated to raising much needed funds for Arts Law. It began in 2013 under the then-President of Arts Law, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, now the Governor of New South Wales.

Hearts For Arts Law’s next event is a panel discussion around artificial intelligence and its use in the music industry. Moderated by Canva’s Lead Counsel of Commercial IP, Felicity Drexel, the discussion will feature prominent professionals at the forefront of AI and its use in music and the arts – Janine Lapworth, Legal Consultant specialising in art and entertainment, Kartini Ludwig, Founder of Koup Music and a creative AI expert, arts worker, and collaborating artist, and Dr Mark Oliveiro, Academic Lecturer in Music at the Australian Institute of Music.

The arts world has been thrown into the deep end with AI, and we are paddling hard to keep up. Is it a revolutionary tool that will enhance creative expression, or is it an existential threat?
