Event description

Now in its 19th year, Harp Island is a residential weekend of harp activities organised by the Harp Society of Tasmania.  Participants take part in a 3-day conference of all things harp, receiving expert musical tuition and participating in a variety of workshops.

The concert is the culmination of this weekend. It will feature a wide array of music - solos, ensembles, classical and contemporary - performed by Harp Island participants and include a short performance by this year's international tutor, Josh Layne. 

Josh Layne has been called a 'harp genius' and a 'consummate musician'. He has performed extensively across Canada and internationally and is well known in the harp world for his YouTube series "Harp Tuesday". Josh’s visit is made possible by generous sponsorship from Jakez François, Camac Harps, France.
