Event description

Have you ever wondered about the backgrounds of UTS Law academics? If they’ve had to overcome any hurdles? Whether they ‘get’ where you're coming from?

In the spirit of celebrating and fostering diversity and inclusivity at UTS Law, you’re invited to join us for an interactive panel to hear the real-life journeys of our scholars to their jobs in academia. As part of UTS Inclusivity Week, the panel will uncover the 'hidden diversity' of our academics while fostering an environment where students and staff are encouraged to share their stories.

With UTS Law student Raphaella Revis as MC, the panel will feature:

Karen O’Connell, Professor of Law

Matt Walsh,  Lecturer

Grace Li, Associate Dean for International

They will be discussing their backgrounds and pathways to law. The session will then invite the audience into a discussion about how UTS Law currently succeeds in its pursuit of inclusivity and diversity, and also where the faculty can do better. In other words, at this session all will be welcome to share their experiences and ideas, with the goal of celebrating diversity and enriching the faculty and university.
