For the first Hi-Fi we have a very special event, the Benjamin Walsh Quartet launch their Japanese vinyl: Return of the Wolf & High Peru.

Fresh from their performances in Tasmania with Dark Mofo's Winter Feast they are stopping in the bay for before heading to Japan to tour the new releases.

A few months back this Australian quartet had the privilege of being released on “Hydrofunk Japan” a new international  branch of the legendary Australian label.

The Benjamin Walsh Quartet has now released two of these 45  singles overseas and we are celebrating the launches over the winter season.

July 14th we are joined by Matthew Ottegnon, a phenomenal saxophonist from Sydney coming back to Hi-Fi after many legendary performances. The Incredible Shenzo Gregorio will be joining us on violin, viola and guitar alongside multi talented Peter Hunt on trumpet and guitar also.

Led by Benjamin Walsh on Drums who will be presenting two sets of his original compositions in the dynamic rhythmic style and rhythms interwoven through afrobeat Cumbia Jazz funk and many other world influences. Their international sound is hard to describe but born from the multicultural world of the Australian scene.

Our sound engineer JAMES BOUNDY is back in the bay and will be behind the faders making sure the mix is doing all the things you need.
