JMC Academy Melbourne are excited to announce we are offering Acting Workshops to high school students in years 9–12 in July!

JMC’s Acting courses cover a wide variety of performance techniques, and this hands-on and physical workshop introduces students to the concepts of performance techniques for auditioning and acting through song.

This workshop offers a taste of how fulfilling performance and musical theatre training can be. The sessions will provide students with tips on how actors can connect with text and song by workshopping a selected scene and piece of music. The instructors will workshop a range of techniques which will empower young actors to unlock their performance and vocal potential and invest in character development.

Students will be invited to participate in mock auditions where they perform a selected scene and song in front of an industry lecturer (and the rest of the group) and receive personalised, constructive feedback on their performance alongside an opportunity to workshop the new techniques discussed earlier in the session.

This workshop is designed for beginners and you do not need any experience to participate!

Eric Morris' Technique for Actor Training 10:00am – 11:30am

Audition Preparation: Masterclass 11:30am – 12:30pm

Lunch 12:30pm – 1:30pm

Performance Through Song 1:30pm – 3:00pm

Performance Through Song Mock Auditions 3:00pm – 4:00pm
