High Schools Training (Parramatta)- Youth Assembly
Description
This training for high school students is run by partner organisations of the Sydney Alliance as part of the Youth Organising project. The Youth Organising Project aims to equip young people (high schoolers and young adults) with the knowledge, tools and practical experience to build their leadership as civic and community leaders of today and tomorrow.
This training is for high school students who want to take on organising roles at our upcoming Youth Assembly (24th February 2027). We encourage any students with an appetite for action to come along- you do NOT need to have an existing leadership role in your school to attend.
At the training, students will
build connections and community with students from different schools and backgrounds
share their stories and perspectives on important issues like; climate change, housing, homelessness, and community connection
learn and be mentored by young civil society experts on possible solutions to these issues
prepare for the upcoming Assembly
Our organisation is asking for schools to cover the cost of catering (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) for your staff and students who are attending.
Please speak to our team if cost is a barrier- jharrison@sydneyalliance.org.au
Our team will send through detailed instructions on how to get to the venue closer to the date.
