Welcome to the magic that is Higher Ground, no ordinary bass party.

At Higher Ground, we create a new world for you to explore through good tunes and art on a variety of levels!

We collaborate with Newys finest DJs, performance artists, and live artists, then set up an incredible display of lighting and decor to create the best dance floor vibes.

This is a dream project designed and curated by Jessica Cobourn of Alchemy of Arts & Mitch Watterson of Costa Sound.

Sleep Exchange is the latest project of Newcastle local, Nic Eldred.
Fusing percussive body music, electro, psy-tek and a good serving of breaks, Nic is known for taking his sets to the deeper, organic, alien regions of the dance music spectrum and draws inspiration from sound system culture in the thriving scenes within Australia. A growing talent within the Mulubinba scene with an ear for crowd movement and individuality, Nic has steadily been building his portfolio with sets for local collectives such as Dekonstructed, 404, X-Rhythm and Cooked Memories as well as being the sole support for Sally C and Spray. He also has his first proper release scheduled for this year on a compilation for UK label CommaTraxx as well as more on the horizon with General Merchant and Inner Theft.

Co-creator of HIGHER GROUND EVENTS Manix loves dnb, bass house, psytrance, and everything in between. Manix's Forte and passion lives in a bass filled dance floor at the peak of the night. With 7 years club experience, 10 years at the doof, and countless hours behind the decks, Manix knows the recipe to max out your energy on any dance floor. You might have seen the hooded silhouette at mindsub events, burning seed, future forests and doofs around the Newcastle area. 
Accompanied by the Sound System he built (Costa Sound Systems ), there is never a shortage of bass nor intensity.

Clawfoot_ aka Jessica Co is the creative director and founder of @alchemy_of_arts (arts and entertainment company), @trashpixiecollective (sustainable arts and education collective) and co-founder of @higher_ground_events based in Newcastle/Awabakal and Worimi country.
During the ominous covid lockdowns Clawfoot_ decided to leap from flow arts, eco-awareness education and theatre, into the DJ world, spinning some of the freshest beats off the dnb streets, always bringing her creative flair to her mixes, Clawfoot_ oozes energy that will make your ears smile.

After he was gifted some psytrance CDs many years ago, Rich became passionate about mixing and digging for many flavours of music. Alongside radio shows and guest mixes, he's been spinning tunes over the recent years at events such as Palace, 404, Daydreaming, Art Valley, Illogical and Caldera Dnb.
This year, he's working to curate more open-air and indoor events through a local collective: Dekonstructed. Check out the Dekonstructed Invites mix series on SoundCloud, which aims to capture a diverse range of local and intercity talent.

Jack (Robuzt) has been a passionate and dedicated DJ for over 8 years, specialising in the high-energy and experimental genres of Dance music. Born and raised in the UK, his natural affinity for Drum & Bass is evident in his dynamic and captivating performances. Over the years, Jack has held residencies at some of the most popular venues and events in the area, showcasing his talent and versatility as a DJ. His ability to read the crowd and seamlessly blend different styles of Drum & Bass has earned him recognition as one of the most stimulating DJs in the Newcastle scene. In addition to his residencies, Jack has also played at numerous festivals and events, bringing his signature sound to audiences across NSW. His last performance at the Higher Ground Summer Edition left a lasting impression on the crowd and he is back for this edition with more exciting blends.
