Venue Details:
Jimmybay has been travelling from town to town in his beat up kombi van for the past five years and has captured audiences with his honest storytelling style and mesmerising live performances drawing inspiration from his own experiences and stories told by other travellers.Â
Aimee Volkofsky was born and raised in the arid lands of western NSW, on the banks of the Barka. She sings songs of dust, ghosts, the harsh realities of life in the bush. Aimee's songwriting weaves together folk, country, and blues into a tapestry of new and old, in reverence to the ancient beauty of the Australian landscape.
We asked Aimee what she loves most about performing in small halls such as ours. "Old halls are so full of ghosts and memories and moments frozen in time. Every creak and chip and unique acoustic is a collaborator when you make music in them. I can’t wait to bring some of the desert’s songs and stories to the Uraidla Institute"
Acknowledgement of Country:
Our gatherings take place on the lands of the Peramangk & Kaurna people.
We respect their spiritual relationship with their country and acknowledge them as the custodians of this land. Always Was Always Will Be.
