On our October Hills Retreat enjoy the experience of the spacious and clear nature of your mind. Our mind always has the potential to be peaceful, clear, spacious and positive. All thoughts, feelings and mental activity arise from within the clarity of our mind and dissolve back in just like waves in the ocean. Not understanding this we often feel stuck in unhelpful habits of thought and relate to our mind as fixed and unchanging in its negativity and painful feelings.

Through meditating on the clarity of our mind we learn to simply observe our thoughts allowing them to dissolve back into the clarity of our mind. In this way we gradually perceive only clarity, our mind becomes unusually lucid and clear and we enjoy the vast spacious feeling of our limitless mind. Abiding there this experience naturally gives rise to deep peace and contentment.

THE TEACHER

Kelsang Monlam is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Adelaide and has been teaching meditation and buddhism since 2008. Monlam presents Buddha’s teachings in a light and practical manner, and inspires us through example to incorporate Buddha’s teachings into our daily life.
