Our Australian Himalayan Foundation family will celebrate 70 years of the first ascent of Mt Everest together in Himalaya Day events across the country. We would love you to celebrate this milestone with us.

What is Himalaya Day?

A truly special day in our AHF history, Himalaya Day commemorates the day 29 May, 1953 on which Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay achieved the first ascent of Mt. Everest.

Every year, we have come together with family, friends and supporters old and new to celebrate Sir Ed’s groundbreaking humanitarian work in the Himalaya. All donations will fund our continued work with communities in the Himalaya through our environmental, education and health programs.
