Historic Lord's

We arrive at the museum up to half an hour before the tour starts and spend some time having a look around the world’s second oldest sports museum and the oldest for cricket.

Your tour will start it 1pm in the museum where the main talking point with be the original Ashe’s Urn. Hear the story of how one of the fiercest rivalries in cricket between England and Australia came about.

From there into the pavilion where we will visit the iconic ‘Long Room,’ the most famous room in cricket, a significant part of this Grade 1 listed building.

Your visit will continue to both dressing rooms, home and away, where you will see where the players prepare for their test matches, the highlight being the Honours Boards where players who make centuries and take five wickets make history and have been doing so for around 150 years.

We’ll leave the pavilion and head to one of the stands from which you can see the ground and finally into the media centre, the ‘space ship’ built for the 1999 World Cup from which you get the best views of the ground.

The tour will end between 2:30 and 2:45 and there will be an opportunity to finish the tour in the Lord’s Tavern (n.b. we buy our own drinks!).
