Hitting climate for six: How sport is surfing the climate wave

We know climate change is already impacting sport: from extreme heat to bushfire smoke, drought and flooding, it's striking at the heart of the games we love. But with millions of passionate fans and followers, athletes, clubs, leagues and tournaments have the power to change the game. Sport is a catalyst for change.

Join us for a drink as Emma Pocock, CEO and founder of FrontRunners, hosts a conversation with three key players on sport and climate. Emma founded FrontRunners alongside her partner and ex-Wallabies player, David Pocock, in 2020 in the wake of the Black Summer Bushfires. She will be joined by Nicola Barr (GIANTS AFLW Player and Decarbonising Sport Lead at FrontRunners), Joanne Bowen (CEO, Cricket for Climate, founded by Australian Men’s Test and ODI Captain Pat Cummins) and Adrian "Ace" Buchan (Professional Surfer and Director for Surfing Australia) for a discussion on the role of sport in motivating action and creation impact on one of the biggest issues of our times.
