HMCollective presents 'Cherry Blossoms'
Description
With the arrival of spring in September, Highlands Music Collective presents CHERRY BLOSSOMS, featuring violinist Myee CLohessy, soprano Alison Robertson, pianist Lisa Kawai, cellist Catherine Barnett, and singers from Zephyr Ensembles,
This concert celebrates the significance of Spring in different corners of the world through beautiful music, heartfelt poetry and joyous song.
In Japan, the Sakura (cherry blossom) is cherished for its stunning pink and white petals that bloom in abundance for a fleeting moment. Its delicate flowers symbolise new beginnings, joy, beauty, and the transient nature of life.
In the Southern Highlands, we have our own significant Cherry Tree Walk meandering through Bowral. It has inspired local composer Oscar Dunn-Luck to write a work specifically for this concert, and esteemed local poet Mark Tredinnick to pen some words he will read at the concert.
We hope you will join us for an intimate and memorable evening at Bowral Memorial Hall. The foyer doors will open from 5:40 pm, when you will be welcomed with a glass of complimentary wine and nibbles. A perfect way to refresh, relax and rejuvenate your souls at the end of a busy week!
The concert hall doors will open at 6.10 pm for a 6.30 pm concert start. There is no interval, and the performance will last approximately 70 minutes.
