    Event description

Community participation is an important part of medical research and it is critically important we design research studies that are going to have an immediate impact on the community as a whole.

If you have lived experience with stroke or a heart condition, or you work or research in these areas, we invite you to come along to this free engagement event where you will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate to help shape meaningful research that are driven by consumer involvement.

We'll kick off with sessions that cover the latest in heart and stroke research, featuring Professor Doan Ngo, hear from patient advocate Brenda Booth, and participate in an interactive workshop on consumer engagement.

Take a breather with Morning Tea, then dive into a reflection on the morning workshop and a getting to know one another session. This will be a fantastic opportunity to connect, discuss, and contribute to the ongoing conversation about heart and stroke research.

Lunch is on us, providing a chance to mingle and chat. If you have any specific dietary requirements please contact communications@hmri.org.au to let us know.
