ABOUT CHRISTINE FINNEGAN

With over 25 years of powerhouse experience in the Australian sporting industry, Christine Finnegan is a dynamic force currently leading the charge as Chief Executive Officer of the NBL Champions, the Tasmania JackJumpers.

Christine’s career spans elite roles in some of the nation’s most iconic sporting organisations, including the Rugby Union ACT Brumbies, Melbourne Rebels, Rugby League's Melbourne Storm, AFL Players Association, and AFL St Kilda Football Club. Her strategic vision and commercial acumen have consistently driven growth, innovation, and fan engagement across codes.

In 2020, Christine made the bold move to Tasmania, joining the founding leadership team of the JackJumpers. Her impact has been nothing short of transformative—building robust commercial platforms, forging deep community connections, and helping position the JackJumpers as one of the most successful expansion franchises in Australian sport.

A passionate advocate for women in sport, Christine is a people-first leader who champions diversity, equity, and inclusion. She actively mentors emerging female talent, speaks widely on the power of representation, and works tirelessly to dismantle barriers to success for women in the industry.

Christine’s influence extends beyond the court. She serves as a Director on the Board of SHE, is an ambassador for the Vinnies Sleepout, and was handpicked for the inaugural AFL Executive Leadership Program and AFL Women in Leadership Program—both designed to pave the way for more women to reach CEO-level roles in sport.
