Event description

Join us for an evening to celebrate the release of King of Dirt, with award-winning author Holden Sheppard in conversation with writer Christos Tsiolkas.

Holden's first two novels Invisible Boys and The Brink won multiple awards, with Invisible Boys being adapted as a ten-episode television series which premiered on Stan Australia in 2025. His new book King of Dirt- his first novel for adults- is a gritty and heartfelt gay coming-of-age story about love, fatherhood, masculinity, vices, family, and trying to find hope again after losing everything.

'King of Dirt is like heavy metal – it hits hard. Jack is a terrific character, vivid and honest to life. I roared through this book.' – Christos Tsiolkas
