Event description

In our early years music and movement classes in Thirroul, families enjoy returning each week to meet with others in a relaxed environment. Children explore different styles and cultures through various types of percussion, singing, multi-sensory resources and movement activities and develop vital cognitive, movement and social skills in early childhood development through the joy of music making.

We provide :

weekly lessons  (45min- $20, $25 for adult and 2 siblings, $30 for adult and 3 siblings)

The weekly groups support children and adults building relationships and connections in a friendly space. The classes provide children with an opportunity to embody the fundamentals of music (beat/rhythm/pitch/tempo/dynamics/sound sources...) which are vital in developing the inner musician first, and later if they choose to continue music, then applying these skills to an instrument is more intuitive.

We also encourage an environment that is supportive for families to come with more than one child and groups may include babies, toddlers and preschool aged children. We love the way younger children learn from the older children and the leadership opportunities the older children get from modelling to and helping the younger.

Holiday Music  (1hour- $25, $30 for adult and 2 siblings, $35 for adult and 3 siblings)

During school holiday times older school age siblings or other family members may like to join the class. Its also an opportunity to meet other families from the Music Time @ Thirroul community.

Supportive continued learning with cds or music downloads and an illustrated picture songbook are also available to enjoy at home via the website www.kaijasings.com.au
