Holiday program Kids 8+ Pottery wheel & Colour
Event description
A 2 hour beginning pottery wheel lesson for kids.
Participants do need to be at least 8 and taller than 130 cm in order to reach the foot peddle on the pottery wheels.
Want to work in the pottery shed and throw some pots on your own personal pottery wheel? Irene makes it fun to learn with step by step instruction and plenty of time to work on your own.
This single pottery wheel class is perfect for the novice or intermediate student; kids work together in a group class with up to 4 total students in the class - Students create 2 items - underglaze your pieces in the colour of your choice and the Studio finishes your work with a clear glaze - Pick up 5 weeks later (your parent will be called or sent a text to advise).
Wear comfortable clothes, clay and underglaze washes out of everything, aprons are worn. All materials provided.
Long hair should be tied back, and extra long nails should be trimmed.
Kids ages 8 to 13 are welcome and preferably have a parent supervising,
Young people over 13 may be dropped off - All attendees need a ticket to work on the wheel, parent helpers do not need a ticket and will not work on a wheel
Pottery left more than 30 days after parents given a pick update will be donated to charity - Class is 2 hours but expect 60 minutes of wheel time, 10-15 minutes of set up, 30 minutes to apply underglaze and 15 minutes of clean up at the end.
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
