Kaiela Arts is excited to welcome young artists to our School Holiday Program this April!
Designed to encourage self-expression, cultural connection and hands-on learning in a fun and supportive environment - these FREE programs are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 8–12
years living in or around Greater
Shepparton.
Across four creative workshops, young artists will explore different artistic techniques with guidance from
experienced KA artists, Tarn Parker and Chloe Jones. So, join us for an inspiring school holiday filled with
creativity, learning, and fun!

Bayaderra | Get your hands dirty - make your own terracotta bayaderra! Use hand-building techniques and stamps to create your own bayaderra, a totem of the Yorta Yorta people that is often seen in our creation stories. A perfect introduction to working with clay and engaging with Yorta Yorta culture. |
Painting Workshop Wed 9th April 10am–12pm with Tarn Parker | Tell your story through paint! Aboriginal Art is the oldest ongoing tradition of art in the world, with the earliest form being signs and symbols painted on rocks using ochres to share stories and information with others. Explore painting techniques to develop your own visual language and experience the power of telling your story through art. Open to all levels of experience. |
Galnyatj Nanyak Dana (Deadly Dreaming Path) Art Journal Workshop Fri 11th April 10am–12pm with Chloe Jones | Follow your Galnyatj Nanyak Dana! Find your inner-creative and connect with First Nations culture by making an art journal. Explore, observe and reflect on the world around you whilst connecting with our local Country. |
Fashion Workshop | The Power of Fashion Discover the power of clothing to tell stories, share knowledge and connect with culture. Showcase your creativity and resourcefulness by making outfits for a paper doll using found materials and studio supplies. |

self-esteem of young people. Our artists and staff members who work with your child as part of the School Holiday Program are experienced facilitators who hold current Working With Children's Checks and Police Checks and undertake Child Safety Training. We can provide you with a copy of our Child Safety Policy on request.
