Home Body - Outdoor Dance
Description
WHAT IS HOME BODY?
Home Body is an outdoor movement meditation dance enabling greater presence, creative possibility, awareness and aliveness.
Home Body is a silent space that invites a moving conversation with the nature without and within - the home that is our own bodies and this body of land. With gentle facilitation and a range of music, invitations are offered to harvest the wisdom in movement, the spaces between, and to listen to this land we call home.
Inspired by Open Floor embodiment and ecosomatic practices, Home Body is a chance to explore and express relationship and belonging through movement, dance and attuning to the 'natural world'.
WHY OUTDOORS?
Dancing outdoors creates unique opportunities to encounter our bodies in relationship to beautiful Djaara Country, as we tour through the natural flora and fauna we live with.
HOW DOES IT WORK OUTDOORS?
You will receive a headset to hear the music and facilitator's voice to support you in your dance. Some activities will involve headsets on and off. Please register as there is a limit of 28 headsets
WHAT IF IT’S TOO WET, COLD OR HOT OUTSIDE?
In the event of unfavourable or unsafe weather you will be notified if an alternate venue is arranged or event cancelled.

ABOUT YOUR HOME BODY FACILITATOR
Home Body is a conscious dance series first facilitated by Francis Icasiano and Jono Finighan in Brunswick, Melbourne.
As an act of belonging and building relationship with his home town in Castlemaine, Francis offers Home Body again. A passionate dancer and playful soul Francis has been accepted into Open Floor teacher training in Europe in 2027.
Founder of Beyond Words a life-story initiative for the elderly, Francis invites deep listening and brings over a decade of experience of conscious dance classes and workshops in Australia and internationally.
Francis is also involved in other community initiatives in Castlemaine - as San FranDisco silent disco practitioner he brings joyous dance and banging tracks to the streets with the D-Tour trio. He also initiated the Art of Grieving group exploring grief, loss and love through communal creative expression.
This event is brought to you in collaboration with D-Tour silent disco tours.
